Privacy statement
How we collect, use and hold your information, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
How this site is built, by design:
- Country detection stores a two-letter country code only. We do not store your IP address ourselves, though our hosting provider keeps normal server logs for a short period, as every web host does.
- Non-essential cookies require opt-in consent; declining is one click (A-14).
- Company-level visitor identification is not enabled and remains gated on the privacy review (A-23).
Analytics and how we improve the site
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people move through this site: which pages are read, where visitors click, and where they get stuck. It records that as an anonymous recording of the page, not of you.
We use it to fix what is confusing. We do not use it to identify you, we do not combine it with anything you type into a form, and we do not sell it. Microsoft processes the information on our behalf as our supplier.
Nothing analytical runs until you accept. If you decline, or if you simply never answer, no analytics cookie is set and no recording is made. You can change your mind at any time below, and your choice takes effect from the next page you open.
How long we keep things
Enquiries, form submissions, newsletter signups and diagnostic answers: 24 months from your last contact with us. After that we anonymise the diagnostic answers and keep them only as aggregate numbers, which cannot be traced back to you.
Client records: for as long as we are working together, and 24 months after that ends.
Coach and Country Lead applications: 4 weeks after the selection process closes.
Your consent and unsubscribe choices: for as long as we need them to honour that choice. Deleting the record of your objection would be the fastest way to breach it.
Cookies and website analytics: as set out above, and never longer than 14 months.
Anything a law requires us to keep for longer, such as an invoice: for the period that law sets, and no longer.
Who else handles your information
We use four suppliers to run this website. They process information on our behalf, under contract, and none of them may use it for anything of their own.
Supabase holds the database and any files, on servers in the European Union. Vercel hosts the website itself, also in the European Union.
Resend sends our email, and Microsoft Clarity provides the website analytics you can decline above. Both are in the United States, and both operate under the standard contract clauses the EU provides for that.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask to see everything we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. You can also ask for a copy in a portable form, and you can object to us using it. None of this costs anything and you do not have to give a reason.
Write to international@scaleupcompany.com. We answer within thirty days, and in practice sooner. We look you up by the email address you write from, or by one you name, and that covers your account, anything you have entered into a diagnostic, the events recorded against your visits and your cookie choices.
If you ask for deletion we remove the records rather than flag them, and we confirm to you when it is done. Where we have to keep something (an invoice, for example) we tell you what and why rather than quietly keeping it.
Diagnostic tools
When you complete the Growth Test, the Founder Readiness Scan or another diagnostic on this site, we keep what you enter (first name, last name, work email, company, role and LinkedIn profile) together with the answers you give and the result they produce.
We use them for two things: to give you your result, and to follow up with you about it. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to anyone outside ScaleUp Company.
They are held by ScaleUp Company International. You can ask to see what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted at any time by writing to international@scaleupcompany.com. We act on the request and confirm to you when it is done.
Disclaimer
Everything on this site is general information about scaling a company. It is written to be useful, not to be advice for your particular situation, and it is no substitute for professional advice from someone who knows your business, your market and your obligations.
The diagnostics on this site (the Growth Test, the Founder Readiness Scan and the others) give you an indication based on the answers you give us. They are a starting point for a conversation, not a measurement, and they do not promise a result.
We keep the content accurate and current, and we correct mistakes when we find them. We cannot promise it is complete or free of error at every moment. Where this site links to somewhere else, that site is not ours: we do not control what it says and we are not responsible for it.
The text, images, frameworks and diagnostics on this site belong to ScaleUp Company unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to read them, use them in your own company and share them. You need our written permission to republish or sell them.
Something here wrong, or out of date? Please write to international@scaleupcompany.com and we will look at it.
